Le Teint Particulier is an innovative solution allowing the development of personalized makeup to be made based on skin type and tone. This solution can be divided into 3 main operations. The first one is related to face scanning. A Lancôme Beauty Advisor scans a client’s facial skin tone in a few different areas in order to get the perfect shade of the client’s skin type and skin tone. The results are then sent into an application, allowing it to dispense a complete personalized make-up based on the client’s own skin criteria.
Our expertise in application and cloud connectivity has allowed us to be selected as the preferred software partner for this project.
Witekio provided a complete application service offering, including both application development and Cloud Connectivity expertise.
In the early stage of the project, Witekio worked on the development of a modern Windows 8.1 application. Based on customer requirements, Witekio seamlessly migrated this application to iOS with the use of Xamarin technology. This iOS application is now used on iPads in Lancôme stores and allows the control of the overall Le Teint Particulier process, from client skin scanning to the makeup dispensing machine.
In collaboration with Lancôme’s team, Witekio integrated skin tone and shade algorithms. These algorithms allow the creation of an infinite number of personalized makeup.
In regard to Cloud connectivity, Witekio has developed a fully customizable management system service. This controls the makeup production machine, while collecting skin tone and style information and sending them to the Cloud with Microsoft Azure technologies.
As part of connectivity, Witekio worked on connecting the iPad application with all the other parts of the Le Teint Particulier system, such as the Makeup machine and the Lancôme Beauty Advisor scanner. The application is also connected to a printing machine that allows personalized makeup packaging
